Immigration is one of the most complex areas of law, and changes often. The most recent changes affecting employers were made on 7th April 2024. It is critical for employers to understand the new work visa rules and their impact on business operations.
This seminar is relevant to all businesses who currently have employees on work visas or are planning to employ migrant workers in the future, as well as others who work with businesses employing staff on visas.
This seminar will cover:
- The new rules for hiring migrant workers in effect from April 2024
- Due diligence with checking an employee’s entitlement to work, and fraudulent visas
- Employer obligations if an employee’s visa is expiring, or they hold an interim visa
- The Worker Protection (Migrant and Other Employees) Act 2023
Presented by Pitt & Moore experts in Immigration and Employment law, Elly Fleming and Lavinia Askin.
