Management Training Assistance Programme

“As you know, the Enterprise Training Programme has ended and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), together with the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, are in the process of implementing a new network of 14 regional partners around New Zealand. These regional partners will assess local businesses, point them to development services that meet their needs, and in some cases provide capability vouchers to eligible businesses that will partially cover the cost of these services. We expect the regional partner network to be operating in most regions from the end of September 2010. In the meantime, NZTE has put in place an interim scheme to continue supporting businesses to improve their management capabilities, while the new regional partner network and the capability voucher system is being implemented.

If your business has fewer than 50 full-time employees, you may be eligible for financial assistance from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) to partially cover the costs of management training courses completed between 1 July 2010 and 30 September 2010. This is an interim scheme to continue helping business owners and managers to improve their management capabilities while a new network of regional partners and capability voucher system are established by NZTE. Approval and payment of the claim will be at the sole discretion of NZTE. More information, including details about the types of training to be covered, can be found at www.nzte.govt.nz/training
