Make a submission to support a standalone NMIT

You may have noticed the recent media coverage about the dismantling of Te Pukēnga and the opportunity for NMIT to return to being a standalone entity for Te Tauihu. This is not a foregone conclusion and the team at NMIT are working hard to make a strong case for this to happen.

We have joined forces with the leaders of three councils, our counterparts in Marlborough and the economic development agencies to campaign for the re-establishment of NMIT as an independent tertiary education provider. This is the time for us to demonstrate the importance of NMIT for the region, to be responsive and targeted to regional industry needs and future partnership opportunities, to work with businesses and attract international students.

The voice of industry is very important so we are asking businesses and industry representatives across Te Tauihu to submit to Government in support of this position. The submission deadline is 12 September.

To make it easy for you to support NMIT, we have created a submission form that you can add your name to.

Download the form below, sign and send to VocationalEducation.Reforms@education.govt.nz.
