Strong Community Symposium

In partnership with NBS, and supported by Rātā Foundation, Nelson City Council, and Department of Internal Affairs, we are launching a new initiative to support the not-for-profit and social enterprise sector of the economy. The intention is to provide practical business advice and support to organisations that typically operate on very tight budgets and a heavy reliance on volunteer support, helping to build Strong Business, Strong Community, Strong Region - in line with the Chamber's mission.

We are all aware that the not-for-profit sector is essential to a regional economy because it addresses social needs, creates jobs, stimulates economic activity, fosters community development, drives social innovation, and, for some, enhances the overall quality of life.

Strong Community is being held on Friday, 6th October. It is a one-day symposium along the lines of our Aspire Business conference. The programme has been designed with a focus on working towards self-sufficiency, compliance, and some inspiring case studies.
