IMPACT: Amplify Purpose, Minimise Footprint.
In our fast-changing world, the not-for-profit and for-purpose sectors are often asked to achieve extraordinary things with limited resources.
The 2025 NBS Strong Community Symposium is a dedicated day for community leaders, volunteers and change-makers. It’s a vital space to gain the tools, inspiration and connections you need to amplify your organisation’s impact and build a truly resilient future.
This year’s theme, Impact, explores two vital pathways for strengthening your work: Amplify Purpose & Minimise Footprint.
On the day, you will focus on:
- Deepening Your Purpose: Explore how to create Intergenerational Impact through a plenary and Iwi panel discussion. You'll learn practical methods for Growing and Measuring Social Impact with the introduction of Tūhono Impact. Crucially, you will also connect with central government priorities and policy during the session led by the Social Investment Agency. Plus, get essential updates on Regional Funding from the key local agencies.
- Minimising Your Footprint: Build crucial long-term resilience by addressing Emissions Reduction and gaining strategies for Adapting to Climate Change Events in our region.
- Strengthening Your Foundations: Ensure your organisation is protected and prepared with a session on Governance & Compliance, including pending changes for Incorporated Societies.
Our programme is designed to provide valuable insights, practical strategies and clear, actionable steps you can immediately put to work. There will be plenty of time to connect, share ideas and build lasting relationships with others who share your passion.
Whether you're leading a small community group, running a social enterprise or working behind the scenes in governance or communications, the NBS Strong Community Symposium is your chance to connect, learn and re-energise your critical mission.
This event is co-hosted by the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce and TTCDA, and sponsored by NBS and Rata Foundation.
Pay it forward: Sponsor a community seat
We’re offering businesses the chance to ‘pay it forward’ and sponsor tickets for people in the community sector to attend the Symposium. It's a meaningful way for your business to contribute to the success of the event while being recognised as a supporter of the community sector. You have two options to pay it forward:
1. Nominate an organisation: If your business already partners with or supports a non-profit, charity, or volunteer organisation, you may nominate them to receive a sponsored ticket.
2. General allocation: Your sponsored seat will support additional members from the community sector to attend (allocated to existing and new registrations on a first-come, first-served basis).
