Build confidence managing your staff

As leaders in an organisation, the human element of business is often overlooked as we focus on the everyday work that needs to be done. We all know that creating a strong team culture with supported, engaged staff is vital, as is meeting your legal obligations as an employer and managing poor performance. However, we often haven’t received the training or the tools to deal with these challenges effectively.

The People Management Series focuses on helping you develop your people management skills to deal with the human aspect of business success. Consisting of seven two-hour sessions, you'll be taken through key topics for managing others with expert facilitators. They'll guide your discussions, identify common pain points and provide insights that you can take away and use with your team.

What will you take away from the course?

  • You will learn how to identify and set objectives that not only benefit your personal development but also contribute to the business’s success, with guidance from Jon Lasenby of Maranga Ltd.
  • Marie Tovio of Tovio Consulting will teach you the art of communicating baseline expectations to new and existing team members effectively
  • Marty Logan from Pitt & Moore Lawyers will provide insights into your responsibilities as an employer and how to avoid common pitfalls in employment law.
  • Denise Hartley-Wilkins of Shine People Consulting will show you the importance and fundamentals of establishing a strong employer brand.
  • You will learn from Marie Tovio about the tools and strategies necessary for managing poor performance and recognising your high achievers.
  • Denise Hartley-Wilkins will guide you through having impactful one-on-one meetings with your staff that matter.

The small group format of this series is designed to encourage valuable connections with the other participants, enabling you to support each other and share ideas along your journey to become better people managers.
