Rachel Reese is well known across the Nelson Tasman region for her leadership, resilience, and dedication to community. Serving as Mayor of Nelson City Council from 2013 to 2022, Rachel was Nelson’s first - and remains its only - female Mayor. During her time in office, she played a significant role in shaping the city through periods of growth, challenge, and change. Prior to becoming Mayor, she operated her own consultancy specialising in resource management and dispute resolution, building a strong reputation for collaboration and advocacy.

Today, Rachel continues to contribute at a national and regional level through governance, mentoring, and leadership roles, while remaining a passionate advocate for regional development and future-focused thinking.

During the evening, Rachel will share her personal and professional journey, reflecting on the opportunities, challenges, and lessons she has learned along the way. From leadership and decision-making to navigating change and staying true to your values, this promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking conversation.
