Go Accounting BA5: Hosted by Port Nelson at the Calwell Marine Haulout Facility

Join us for a special Go Accounting BA5 hosted by Port Nelson at the newly redeveloped Calwell Marine Haulout Facility.

This is a great opportunity to step behind the scenes and see firsthand one of Nelson Tasman’s significant investments in marine infrastructure, while hearing more about what the facility means for our region’s marine sector and wider economy.

The redevelopment has created a modern marine haul-out and maintenance facility, designed to strengthen Nelson’s marine servicing capability and attract vessels and marine maintenance activity from around New Zealand and internationally. The site includes the existing Calwell Slipway, a new finger wharf and hardstand area, along with a 550-tonne boat hoist.

Located in the heart of Nelson’s marine engineering cluster, Calwell also supports a wider network of local marine businesses, including engineers, fabricators, electrical contractors, surveyors, riggers and other specialist suppliers.

During the evening, we will hear from the Port Nelson team about the facility’s capabilities, and the opportunities it creates for the region’s marine industry and local businesses. Attendees will also have the chance to meet several of the marine engineering businesses operating from Calwell, with displays and information available showcasing their expertise, services, and contribution to Nelson’s growing marine sector.

And, of course, there will be plenty of time to catch up with other Chamber members, make new connections and enjoy some refreshments.
