Networking & Youth Short Film Evening

Mahitahi Colab Tasman has partnered with Whenua Iti Outdoors for an inspiring evening with a special screening of winning short films from this year’s Youth Outdoor Film Competition.

Come along to network, connect and help celebrate local youth creativity.

About the film competition

The Youth Outdoor Short Film Competition is designed to encourage youth to get outdoors, have fun and film their trip over the summer holiday period. Whether they are hiking, biking, kayaking, or just exploring a favourite local spot, we want to see it through their eyes. The competition is open to youth - defined as 12-24 years old.

The categories attracted $4,000 of prizes from a range of sponsors: 

1. Youth Filmmaker: Plan, film, and edit everything. 
2. Primary Journey: For youth under 12 - It's fine to get help editing to bring your story to life, focus on the adventure. 
3. Intermediate Journey: For youth 12-15 - It's fine to get help editing to bring your story to life, focus on the adventure. 
4. Senior Journey: For youth 16+ - It's fine to get help editing to bring your story to life, focus on the adventure.
